Cooperative Business Model

The RESTOR-Hydro project develops a business model and guidelines to establish small hydropower cooperatives.
The cooperative business model aggregates multiple sites in a region under an umbrella organisation. This model offers several advantages, by:
• stimulating local investment in renewable energy generation;
• increasing social acceptance of hydropower through local community participation;
• generating economies of scale and reducing administrative difficulties.
